We are well overdue a news update on the website so thought we would check in! We try to keep our Facebook as up to date as possible and are looking to reintroduce our Instagram page after an unfortunate incident earlier this year meaning it was deleted!
2024 was a wet year for us all, the crops struggled and yields were lower than we’d have liked. We only got part of the winter crops in, finishing them in Spring. We’re hoping a good mix of sun and rain will give this years crops a better chance.
Since the introduction of the 2023 SFI scheme, we have been introducing Wild Flowers, Grassy Margins and Winter Bird Food mixes into our usual crop rotations where we feel they will benefit the ground and area most. This year you will mainly see them popping up in our fields in Guilden Sutton and Christleton on your walks along the PROWs. We’ve really enjoyed getting the opportunity to try something a bit different in the hope it benefits our usual crops.
The farm is as busy as usual with plenty of cereals and raw materials coming into the sheds, helping farmers, merchants and animal feed mills with their storage requirements.
You will continue seeing our fleet of wagons on the road (look out for the black and green trucks with yellow wheels – you can’t miss us!), focusing trips within the North West. We continue carrying animal feed and aggregate products meeting the TASCC requirements.
Tile Farm Off Road continue to offer muddy fun through their quad biking and off road bikes – if you’ve not been to have a go yet, you really should give it a try – plenty of family fun to be had! We were pleased with some positive news at Christmas regarding a planning related appeal.
Our family is ever growing with the addition of a few more grandsons over recent years. Certainly keeping Granny and Grandad busy!
